At least two individuals were injured when a gunman opened fire inside the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office in Wallace, Idaho. The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office, located just across the border in Montana, was the first to confirm reports of an active shooter. Over the course of the afternoon and into the evening, at least eight law enforcement agencies from Idaho, Washington, and Montana responded to the scene.

Swindell-Ward explained that she was grocery shopping when she heard the shots. She quickly retreated to her car to observe the events from a safe distance.
